The Clinical Metabolic Assessment is for individuals who are seeking to understand their body's metabolism and daily caloric expenditure.

You will go through a comprehensive and accurate metabolic assessment by our exercise physiologist. Improving your metabolic health will directly improve your ability to lose weight and maintain a healthy weight.

What does the assessment consist of?

Your resting metabolic rate is the energy required by your body to perform its basic functions at rest. This energy is converted from the food that you consume, and expressed in calories per day. Understanding your body's metabolism at rest enables you to feed your body in way that can achieve your goals.

The test is done with the individual lying down on a bed for approximately 30 minutes. You will be required to wear a mask that will measure gas exchanges.

Upon completion of the test, your results will then be analysed and our exercise physiologists will be able to:

• Assess your metabolic efficiency
• Measure the amount of calories, carbohydrate and fat that you burn at rest
• Provide exercise and nutrition recommendations based on your goals
• Track your personal progression

The Metabolic Efficiency Test provides valuable insight to the amount of calories you burn at each specific intensity of exercise, as well as the proportion of carbohydrates and fats, to guide you towards your exercise and meal plan and achieving your goals in a smarter, more effective way.

The test requires you exercise in progressive stages with each stage lasting for 3 - 5 minutes. You will be required to wear a mask that will measure gas exchanges until voluntary exhaustion or no fat oxidation has been detected for at least 1 stage.

Upon completion of the test, your results will then be analysed and our exercise physiologists will be able to:

• Assess your metabolic efficiency
• Identify your current fat - burning zone
• Measure the amount of calories, carbohydrate, and fat that you burn at various intensity levels
• Provide exercise and nutrition recommendations based on your goals

Our bodies are made up of many different soft tissues, hard structures, and fluids. While our body is more than a sum of its parts, understanding our body’s composition allows us to track changes and make informed choices towards our intended goals.

Anyone may do this test unless you have an implanted pacemaker or cardio-verter-defillibrator. This test takes 5 minutes, although it is generally done in conjunction with our other tests.

Upon completion of the test, your results will then be analysed and our exercise physiologists will be able to:

• Assess your body's unique composition and status
• Provide segmental breakdown of lean and fat mass in your body
• Diagnose risk of obesity
• Provide exercise and nutrition recommendations based on your goals
